Wednesday, we were able to observe the open gym of perennial power Cathedral High School in Indianapolis. They might have the top sleeper in the 2013 class...

Hall had many college coaches as they left the gym. Here are our notes from the workout.
Garrett Hall (6’1” SG 2013) played extremely well. Right hand is a question plus undersized for a SG at the D1 level but could be really productive at the D2/NAIA. He will definitely attract D1 attention throughout this season. He is extremely smooth, a good athlete, and a consistent outside shooter. Lincoln Memorial, Lewis University (offer), St. Joe’s (IN), Lynn University have been in contact, but expect some D1’s to get into the mix very quickly as many we were impressed at the open gym on Wednesday.
Mo Evans (6’0” PG 2013) dominated the one on one drill against Jalen Coleman, Justin Baker, and David Hill. He was hitting outside shots over a hand consistently. Evans was absolutely great in the scrimmages. Evans went on an official visit to IPFW last weekend and will be taking an official to Northeastern this week.
Collin Hartman (6’7” SF 2013 Indiana commit) shot the ball extremely well especially in the scrimmages. He was not as good during the one on one drill but you would expect that to a certain degree. He is mainly a catch and shoot or catch, two dribbles and shoot type of player. Creating his own shot is not where he excels.
Justin Baker (5’7” PG 2014) had a good showing against Coleman offensively and defensively. He is probably the quickest of the Cathedral guards, which is saying a lot. Baker shot well in June and shot well today from the outside. His height is definitely a drawback for the next level but he is a tough kid and has the quickness to make up for his height.
Jalen Coleman (6’2” G 2015) did not finish in the one on one drill and his shots from the outside weren't very close. He isn’t creating space with the dribble and he struggled with that over the summer. He has the physical ability and skill set, but just seemed a little off Wednesday.
David Hill (6’0” PG 2013) shows flashes of his ability. He can do a little bit of everything, but needs to be more consistent offensively. I like his length on the defensive end. That length should allow him to guard either guard position at the next level. I like Hill for the D2/NAIA level.
Matt Shultz (5’9” PG 2016) first time seeing the freshmen, but Shultz has some quickness and skill but is a little short and thin right now. He will likely play on the freshmen team this year or possibly the junior varsity. He would be a varsity player as a freshman for most 4A programs in the state.
Devin Dixon (6’8” C 2013) likes to go finesse too much around the rim. I question his hands…he bobbled a lot of passes and rebounds today. Dixon did play better, finished consistently late in the open gym. D2/NAIA guy, but has low-major potential.
Matt Gregory (6’6” SF 2014) competed well in the 1 on 1 drill although he didn't finish a few plays. NAIA/D3 prospect that would be a very productive player for most programs but will struggle to find consistent playing time for Cathedral.
Josh Sullen was hurt and did not participate in open gym.
Collin Barthel plays football so he was not in the open gym.{/iACL}
