As we continue to with our open gym series, we stopped by Indianapolis Tech on Thursday. Kentucky coach John Calipari, Ball State assistant Bob Simmons, and Wright State assistant Scott Woods were also in attendance. Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski visited with Trey Lyles Thursday morning. Lyles has offers from both Kentucky and Duke.

He only took part in shooting drills for the first part of the open gym and then had a meeting, but he looks like a top 10 player in the nation for sure. Mike Krzyzewski was in to watch him in the morning on Thursday and John Calipari watched him in the afternoon.
Jeremie Tyler (6’1” G 2014) had a great June and July. He was always very passive on the offensive end before that, but he turned up his aggressiveness and it took his game to another level. It is important that he stays aggressive while playing alongside Lyles. Tyler might need to pass up a shot or two, but Tech needs him to be a solid second option.
Rashaun Richardson (6’6” F 2014) one of the breakout performers of the spring in Indiana. Unfortunately, he suffered a concussion recently and did not participate in the scrimmage. He did give use a recruiting update though.
Mike Jones (6’3” G 2014) was out for most of the workout getting treatment for his achilles injury that he suffered over the summer. He said that the injury has not improved that much since the summer, but it looked like he was running well.
Leo Williams (5’10” PG 2013) passed the ball really well in the scrimmage portion of the workout. He also shot the ball consistently all afternoon. It looks like he has really improved his skills plus he plays much more under control now compared to a year ago. He is a nice D2/NAIA prospect.
C.J. Walker (5’10” PG 2016) the freshmen point guard was pretty good Thursday. He can shoot it well from the outside and passes it well especially for a frosh. He’s not extremely explosive/quick at this point although he is the definition of “baby-faced.” It will be interesting to see his role this season. {/iACL}
