Zavier Turner, our 9th best college prospect in the 2013 class, committed to Ball State on July 31st. Turner entertained offers from St. Louis, Georgia State, Loyola, Evansville, Indiana State, and Miami (OH) before committing to the Cardinals.
Turner entered the club season looking to prove that he was a high-major type prospect and I believe that hurt his performance at times. He never was able to secure an offer from a BCS program, but overall was still solid this spring and summer.
Turner is an explosive, jitter bug point guard. He is well built for his age and that combination of quickness and strength makes him a tough defender. Turner is really good at shooting off the dribble or with his feet set. The major downside in his game is his height, with him only being 5-8 or 5-9. He makes up for his height with his quickness and toughness. Turner should be fantastic in the MAC.
