In this recruiting news update, we feature two dynamic point guards from Northwest Indiana. Hyron Edwards already has three Big Ten scholarship offers, while Tye Wilburn recently picked up his first D1 offer from IPFW.

Hyron Edwards, 5’11” PG East Chicago Central (2015), saw his game really explode this spring. He was a top point guard entering his freshmen year, but he was not an elite point guard. His outside shot became much more consistent and he began to finish above the rim. He also started to make better decisions with the ball; finding open teammates instead of forcing shots.
Edwards reports to us that Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Morehead State and Illinois have visited him this fall. His family knows a coach at Morehead State, which is why they are in the list with all Big Ten schools. Edwards has offers from Indiana, Purdue, and Illinois.
Tye Wilburn, 6’0” PG Lake Central (2014), is starting to find his game. He was injured for most of his freshman year. He missed a majority of the high school season as well as the spring and summer. Wilburn has finally had a completely healthy year and his game is really taking off. He has good size for a point guard at 6-foot and approximately 165 pounds. He is a good outside shooter although his release is a bit slow.
Wilburn was offered by IPFW a couple of weeks ago. He might visit Central Michigan this weekend. Valpo, Indiana State, and Oregon State have all been in contact with Wilburn this fall. {/iACL}
