Michael Volovic has decided to take a preferred walk on spot with Butler University. Volovic was a key piece to Carmel's state championship team last season. He was also offered a preferred walk on position with Indiana State. He was attracting attention from programs like DePauw, Franklin, Anderson, and St. Joe's College. Volovic is a high-academic prospect
Volovic is the definition of a hard-nosed point guard. He puts his body on the line every time that he steps on the floor. He takes care of the ball, and will knock down the open outside shot. He isn't the quickest point guard, but he usually finds a way to break down the defense. When he gets into the lane he usually looks to create for his teammates instead of looking to score at the basket.
Volovic could end up like current Butler player Alex Barlow. Barlow came from a winning program in Ohio (Moeller HS), but did not attract any D1 offers. Barlow is now a key contributor for Butler as a sophomore.
