He’s a high-level rebounder. Wilkins really displayed his rebounding ability last summer against some of the best big men in the nation. Plus, he played up an age group during the summer and was still able rebound at a high level. That will drive his college recruitment until he develops an offensive game.
Wilkins is pretty raw on the offensive end at this point. He’s not a dominating force on the offensive block to say the least. He had a couple right shoulder, half hooks against Traders Point where the form looked okay, but the shots were way off. It seems like he is a hard worker and his offensive game will come along down the road.
Another thing that sticks out about Wilkins is his ability to defend on the perimeter. He has great lateral quickness for a 6-11 junior in high school. He is pretty thin right now. Once he adds some weight, he should be a defensive force on the inside and the outside.
Wilkins only has one offer on the table; it is from Bradley. He said that he is hearing from Auburn and VCU the most right now. Wilkins also said that he hears from Miami (FL), Miami (OH) and Wake Forest. His recruitment will likely be in a very different place after the April evaluation period when college coaches are out in full force. {/iACL}
