Jaylon Holmes committed to Western Michigan today. Holmes had a strong senior year for Merrillville before going the junior college route. He’s six-foot-five with a longer wingspan. At Merrillville, he showed that he can handle the ball and defend on the perimeter. In the MAC, Holmes should be able to defend multiple positions and use his athleticism going to the basket. He picked Western Michigan over a bunch of D1 offers. Holmes is a solid pickup for new Western Michigan coach Clayton Bates.
