While Danville entered the night ranked #7 in the state 3A poll, it needed a win over conference foe Lebanon to keep any hope alive of securing, at least, a part of the conference title. Using a combination of zone and man defenses, Danville was able to hang on for a hard-fought win that kept them square in the title race.

Each team had difficulty on offense early in the game. Lebanon worked to get opportunities for their junior star, Trevor Lakes, against Danville's zone, but were unable to find passing lanes to get him the ball. Danville worked their offense to get open looks, but was unable to knock them down with any regularity.

It was more of the same in the second quarter, but Lebanon was able to turn unforced Danville turnovers into points and take a two point lead halfway through the quarter. But the Warriors would settle down and attack the rim, leaning on Ryan Cloncs and sophomore forward Alec Burton.

Danville would look to gain control in the third, starting the half on an 11-4 run before Trevor Lakes would hit his first three-pointer of the night. Lakes and guard Alex Siegfried would score 12 of the Tigers' 14 points in the quarter.

The story of the quarter was diminutive Danville guard Jake Elliott. The 5'7 senior scored 11 of his team high 13 points in the quarter, hitting three three-pointers and a pair of free throws after a Lebanon technical. His play would give Danville a five point advantage heading into the final eight minutes.

Each time Lebanon would get close, Danville would respond with a bucket. Lebanon finally tied the game at 38 when Trevor Lakes hit Will Byrd in transition, and Byrd drove the baseline for a tough layup. Lebanon had a chance to tie or take the lead with just under 15 seconds left and trailing by two, but a cross court pass was intercepted by Alec Burton and he was fouled immediately. The sophomore made both free throws, but Trevor Lakes would dribble into a three and hit it with just over a second remaining. Cole Potts was fouled on the inbound and made both his free throws for the final margin.
