Brownsburg and Terre Haute South lost games on Friday night. The two teams faced off Saturday night looking to get back on the right track.

Brownsburg’s defense left Terre Haute South spinning its tires early in the game. The Bulldogs jumped on South 9-2. Brownsburg did a great job of establishing its game plan early in the game.

“The best players have really scored the ball well against us and the kids did a really good job tonight of finding him [Jaylen Minnett] and getting to him,” Brownsburg’s Steve Lynch told Indiana Basketball Source.

Brownsburg held IUPUI-signee Jaylen Minnett to two points in the first half and 2-13 shooting for the game. That put the pressure to score on Terre Haute South’s supporting cast. Jesse Brown had a nice first half with nine points to keep South within striking distance.

The Bulldogs had no problem scoring against South. Brownsburg scored 1.2 points per possession during the game. Anything over a point per possession is good. They had a True Shooting Percentage of 56.3% for the game. Cameron Alford for responsible for many of those points. He scored 14 points in the first half by slashing to the basket. He finished with 22.

Terre Haute South did not get blown out, though. They took the lead a couple times in the third quarter. That was despite De’Avion Washington picking up his fourth foul in the period. Washington the star for South. He was excellent on the glass and scored in the lane all game.

It was a three-point game late in the third quarter when Packard Rozzi beat the buzzer with a three-pointer from the wing. Brownsburg pulled away from there in the fourth quarter. 2018 forward Antrez Baker was a major reason for Brownsburg’s success. He tallied 20 points and 12 rebounds. Baker was 7-10 from the floor. His toughness and aggressiveness was huge for Brownsburg.

Brownsburg cruised to the 77-65 victory. Landon Hall had 13 points to join Alford and Baker in double figures for the Bulldogs. Terre Haute South was led by De’Avion Washington’s 24 points and 10 rebounds. Minnett finished with 12 while Jesse Brown and Craig Porter had 11.
