Hammond traveled to Indianapolis for a couple games over the weekend. The Wildcats walked away with two wins after holding on against Park Tudor on Saturday.

Junior forward Darrell Reed scored four of the first six points for Hammond. The 2021 prospect has great length and hands which allow him to produce at a high level in the lane. Ronald Johnson matched Reed's scoring for Park Tudor. Johnson nailed a three-pointer then finished a three-point play minutes later. The first quarter saw the game go back and forth before Jamar Styles gave Hammond the lead towards the end of the period.

Early in the second period, Hammond built a seven-point lead before JC Glenn helped Park Tudor come back. Glenn scored the first six points of the quarter for Park Tudor. He used his strength to battle Reed in the paint. For Hammond, Styles remained active around the basket. He scored 10 points in the first half.

With the game tied at halftime, Harold Woods took over the game in the third. He was held to two points in the first half before scoring 11 points in the first five minutes of the second. He connected on three triples during that stretch. Behind Woods, Hammond built another seven-point lead. Kadaphi Honaker had the answer for PT. He scored inside then banged a three-pointer from the corner.

After being quiet for the middle quarters, Johnson came alive. He scored eight points in the stanza. His second three-pointer of the quarter gave Park Tudor the 48-46 lead. In the same mold, Reed picked up his scoring in the fourth for Hammond. Reed scored 10 points in the final period including an and-1 after he grabbed an offensive rebound with 19 seconds remaining. That put Hammond up five.

In a hole, PT found Glenn inside for a bucket. Moments later, the Panthers were still down three points with the ball. Johnson was able to get a good look at a three-pointer in the final seconds, but it rimmed out. Reed grabbed the rebound for Hammond as the clock expired.

Hammond held onto the 55-52 win.

Reed led the Wildcats with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Woods added 15 points and six rebounds. Jamar Styles recorded 12 points and nine rebounds.

Johnson also had 18 points to lead Park Tudor. He also had four rebounds and four assists. Glenn added 14 points and eight rebounds. Honaker scored nine points.
