In a 3A contest, No. 2 Heritage Hills took down No. 6 Evansville Bosse in a great postseason game.

Julian Norris and Blake Sisley traded baskets for the first 13 points of the game. Norris made two mid-range shots and one just inside the three-point line. Sisley drilled a three from right of the key. Kolten Sanford was the first player not named Norris or Sisley to score. That was nearly six minutes into the game.

After a slow start, Simon Scherry found his stride late in the second quarter. He was able to get a free throw then knocked down two shots in a row, including a three. He scored the first bucket of the second half for Heritage Hills as well.

Heritage Hills’ all-time leading scorer Murray Becher went scoreless in the first half. He changed that in the third as he scored nine points. Xavier Burton scored twice early in the quarter for Bosse, but the Patriots shut Bosse down after that. HH scored the final nine points of the third to take a 10-point lead into the fourth.

Early in the fourth, Sanford ended the run with a bucket for Bosse. Moments later, Norris scored to make it a six-point game. That’s where the game stood until Scherry buried a three-pointer to push the Heritage Hills lead back to nine points. Bosse was able to bounce back. Norris scored again with under two minutes to five points. With under a minute to play, Norris scored to make it a four-point game.

That’s the closest that Bosse would make it. Sisley scored the final three points of the game for the final of 54-47.

Simon Scherry led Heritage Hills with 18 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Blake Sisley recorded 17 points and eight rebounds. Murray Becher added nine.

In the loss, Julian Norris scored 16 for Bosse. He also had five rebounds. Kiyron Powell had 3 points and 11 rebounds. Kolten Sanford scored eight. Ty’Ran Funches also had eight. Xavier Burton and Alijah Stewart each scored six.
