(Mason Jones and Valpo have a big game against Crown Point this week)

We're giving you a little extra this week as there is a ridiculous selection of great games across the state. Indiana Basketball Source couldn't pick just ten, so here are 15 of the best games from around the state this week on our Week In Preview.

Monday, February 8th
Fishers at Brownsburg 7:30 pm
Both teams have picked up noteworthy victories in recent weeks, as Brownsburg has toppled Attucks and Fishers knocked off Carmel last weekend. Pierce Thomas is putting in a fantastic senior year for the Bulldogs, and he's hitting his stride at the right time, averaging 28.8 points over his last four games.

Tuesday, February 9th
Andrean at Lowell 8:00 pm
Andrean has only played once in the last three weeks, a 68-54 win over Marquette Catholic on Saturday. They look to remain undefeated in Northwest Crossroads Conference play when they face Lowell. Senior Chris Mantis recently became Lowell's all-time leading scorer, and the App State signee looks to extend that mark on Tuesday.

Silver Creek at Floyd Central 7:30 pm
A great rivalry in recent years along the Ohio River features Division I talent. Silver Creek boasts Mr. Basketball contender Trey Kaufman, Toledo signee Kooper Jacobi, and junior point guard Branden Northern. The Dragons look to break out of a skid that's seen them drop two of their last four. The Highlanders have future Air Force guard Jake Heidbreder, but they're also looking to bounce back following a defeat to Jennings County of the weekend that snapped a seven-game winning streak.

Twin Lakes at Peru 7:45 pm
Peru sits at 14-2, and one of those two losses came to 4A #1 Homestead, but the Tigers rebounded from that loss with an overtime win against Tipton last Thursday. They welcome Twin Lakes to the banks of the Wabash, as the Indians also have just two blemishes on their record. Guards Noah Johnston and Clayton Bridwell both average 16 a game for Kent Adams' squad, while the Tigers are paced by junior forward Matt Ross and his 15 points and 12 boards a night.

Valparaiso at Michigan City 8:00 pm
The Vikings look to stay undefeated in Duneland play as they host the Wolves of Michigan City. Guard Colton Jones had 17 on the back of three triples in a DAC win over LaPorte on Friday night. Michigan City lost twice last week, albeit to very good 4A opponents in Chesterton and South Bend Adams. High scoring guard Jamie Hodges will need a big night if Michigan City is to get the road win.

Friday, February 12th
Columbus North at Bloomington South 7:30 pm
These two teams met in last year's sectional semis, but the squads look differently now. Blake Barker is back leading the Bulldogs, however, and the senior guard will come out firing in trying to get a statement win. South is missing Bradley signee Connor Hickman, who is out for the year with an injury, but forward Joey Bomba has stepped up in his absence, leading the Panthers to a perfect 8-0 record in 2021.

West Side at Munster 8:00 pm
A contrast in styles as the high-flying Cougars of West Side travel south to face the always stingy Mustangs of Munster. Jeremiah Lovett, Luka Balac, and Clayton Bubash will need to come up big against the talented trio of Quimari Peterson, Chrishawn Christmas, and Jalen Washington. Munster has only one loss in its last 15 games, a two-point defeat to 3A #1 Hammond. West Side scored a big win in overtime against 4A #2 Cathedral on Saturday, getting clutch play from wing Parion Roberson down the stretch.

Greenwood at Plainfield 7:30 pm
Plainfield has quietly racked up 14 consecutive wins since a December 1st loss to Pike. Led by the frontcourt duo of Ian Scott and Cael Vanderbush, who combined for 31 points and 14 rebounds a night, the Quakers look to clinch a Mid-State Conference title. Greenwood has other ideas, as the Woodmen have won five in a row and can tie for the Mid-State lead with a victory. Senior forward Rasheed Elemikan has been a force all year for Greenwood, averaging nearly 16 points and eight boards a game.

Cathedral at Blackhawk Christian 7:30 pm
The Irish bring their loaded lineup up to Fort Wayne to face off against 2A top-ranked Blackhawk Christian. Blackhawk is coming off a two-win week which saw sophomore wing Gage Sefton step up in the absence of senior guard Marcus Davidson, as Sefton put up double figures in both games, including 17 in a blowout win over South Side. Cathedral was defeated in overtime by Gary West Side, but Vincent Brady and Tayshawn Comer will attack in what could be a high scoring affair.

St. Joseph at Mishawaka Marian 7:30 pm
A diocesan showdown as these two rivals renew pleasantries. St. Joe wing JR Konieczny is putting up over 30 a game as the Notre Dame signee can score anywhere. Marian is in good hands with sophomore point guard Deaglan Sullivan, who has backed up his stellar freshman campaign with a breakout sophomore season.

Valparaiso at Crown Point 8:00 pm
Clint Swan's Bulldogs need a win to stay alive in the DAC race, and he will rely on guard Ty Smith to provide a scoring punch for Crown Point. Valpo brings in the DAC's best defense, giving up just 44 points a game. That mark is improving, as none of the Vikings' last four opponents have scored more than 40 points. Mason Jones looks to control the interior for Valpo, as the sophomore forward is coming off a big game in a blowout over Hobart on Saturday.

Westfield at Hamilton Heights 7:30 pm
Two teams looking to rebound from close losses meet up in this Hamilton County showdown. The Shamrocks have lost four of their last seven and will look to junior standout Braden Smith to stop the bleeding. He'll have to help corral Hamilton Heights highs coring point guard Gus Etchison. The future Western Michigan Bronco is coming off a 38-point performance, although it came in a three-point loss to Western on Saturday.

Saturday, February 13th
Carmel at Carroll 5:30 pm
Carmel was shocked by Fishers on Saturday, as they lost for just the second time this year. The Greyhounds hope to have leading scorer Brian Waddell back when they trek north to face the Carroll Chargers, who are also coming off a close loss, as they were knocked off by a ranked Leo team 39-37. Jalen Jackson scored just ten in that game, but the powerful junior guard boasts averages of 22 points and eight rebounds a game.

Munster at Chesterton 8:00pm
Munster makes their second appearance this week when they face off against Duneland-leading Chesterton. Junior guard Travis Grayson leads the way for the Trojans, who are also getting steady contributions from freshman Justin Sims, who can do damage both inside and out. Chesterton looks to bounce back from a 15 point loss to Warsaw over the weekend, just their third defeat of the season.

South Spencer at Heritage Hills 8:00 pm
Heritage Hills fell to Castle by a dozen on Saturday, but Evansville signee Blake Sisley and veteran point guard Jake Johnson will look to get back on the winning track when they host South Spencer in a battle for first place in the Pocket. The Rebels have played just three times in the past month but have won all three. The Donohos, Michael and Cale, lead the way for Matt Britton's team.
