2014 small forward Sam Logwood from La Lumiere School (LaPorte, Indiana) committed to the University of New Mexico after originally signing with Auburn. He committed to the Lobos after his official visit.

Logwood is known for his athleticism at 6-foot-6. He is a player that loves to show off his leaping ability. Logwood started his high school career at Lawrence North before playing his final two seasons at La Lumiere. Logwood saw some playing time as a sophomore at Lawrence North on a team that featured Eron Harris (former West Virginia standout/currently at Michigan State) and Basil Smotherman (current Purdue sophomore.)

Logwood signed with Auburn last November. Head coach Tony Barbee was fired from Auburn this spring though. That immediately had Logwood thinking of going elsewhere. He decided to stick with his commitment soon after. From the outside, Auburn is over the scholarship limit. All scholarship information is not released publicly, so it is impossible to know the specifics of the roster.

New Mexico filled its assistant coaching position with La Lumiere head coach Alan Huss last week. The hiring of Huss made the Lobos the clear favorite for signing Logwood. The 2014 prospect took his official visit to New Mexico immediately after Huss was hired. Logwood committed at the end of his official visit. New Mexico has done a great job of developing talent lately. Logwood has the potential to be a really good player for the Lobos if it clicks for him.
