Every year, there are around 1,000 D1 men's basketball transfers. This year, that number is expected to double as transfers will be given a waiver to play immediately plus the NCAA is giving all student-athletes the option of a free redshirt season. Already, many Indiana natives are entering the transfer portal. 

 

The biggest name is Indiana State's Jake LaRavia. The Lawrence Central graduate had a meteoric rise between his junior year and senior season for the Bears. He went from a role player to a D1 prospect. He committed to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville before a coaching change. He was an Indiana All-Star and attracted major attention after he opened his recruitment, but LaRavia wanted to stay close to home. That is a major reason why he ended up at Indiana State. As a sophomore this season, he was a second-team all-Missouri Valley player. In high school, he was best as a shooter and rim finisher. With the Sycamores, he did not look for his outside shot much.
